Booko ("the App") is a reading highlights app developed by jinzhiyi ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use Booko.

Data We Collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to our servers. Booko is a fully local app with no backend, no user accounts, and no server-side data processing.

Data stored on your device

Your reading highlights, notes, book information, imported book covers, display preferences, and optional WeRead API key are stored locally on your device.

The WeRead API key is stored in the device Keychain and is not synced through iCloud by Booko.

Booko does not upload this data to our own servers. It may leave your device only through iCloud sync if you enable it, or when you intentionally use an external import feature such as WeRead import.

iCloud Sync

If you have iCloud enabled, Booko uses Apple's iCloud service to sync your data across your devices.

Synced data may include your reading highlights, notes, book information, imported book covers, and display preferences.

This data is stored in your personal iCloud account and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

We do not have access to your iCloud data.

Optional WeRead Import

Booko may offer an optional WeRead import feature. This feature only works when you choose to enter a WeRead API key.

The API key is stored locally in the device Keychain. Booko does not upload the API key to our own servers and does not sync it through iCloud.

When you use this feature, Booko sends the API key to WeRead-related endpoints to fetch your own notebook books, highlights, thoughts, and book cover images. These requests are made only for the import or connection actions you initiate.

Imported books, notes, and cover images are saved into Booko data on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, the imported content may sync through your personal iCloud account.

You can clear the WeRead API key in Booko settings at any time.

Analytics

We may use Apple's built-in App Analytics to understand general usage trends (e.g., number of installs, crash reports).

This data is collected and anonymized by Apple. We do not receive any personally identifiable information.

No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs are used.

Clipboard Access

Booko offers an optional clipboard reading feature to quickly import reading notes. This feature is disabled by default and only becomes active after you manually enable it.

When enabled, clipboard content is processed locally only and is never stored, cached, or transmitted to any server.

You can disable this feature at any time in the App's settings.

Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect or store the following data on our own servers:

• Personal information (name, email, phone number).
• Location data.
• Device identifiers for tracking purposes.
• Usage behavior or browsing history.
• Any content you paste, create, or import in the App.

Your Rights

Because Booko stores all data locally on your device:

• Access & export: Your highlights are stored on your device and can be viewed at any time within the app.
• Deletion: You can delete individual highlights in the app, or delete all data by uninstalling Booko from your device.
• iCloud sync control: You can disable iCloud sync at any time in your device's iCloud settings.
• WeRead key control: You can clear the optional WeRead API key in Booko settings at any time.
• No third-party sharing: We do not share your data. Because we do not store your data on our servers, there is nothing for us to delete on our end.

In-App Purchases

Booko offers a one-time in-app purchase ("Lifetime Unlock") through Apple's App Store.

All payment processing is handled by Apple. We do not receive or store any payment information.

Third-Party Services

Apple iCloud: Used for data sync across your devices. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.

Apple App Store: Used for in-app purchases. Subject to Apple's Terms and Conditions.

WeRead: Used only when you choose to connect a WeRead API key and import your own WeRead notes or book covers. Subject to WeRead's own terms and privacy practices.

Children's Privacy

Booko is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.

iCloud 同步

如果您开启了 iCloud，Booko 会使用 Apple 的 iCloud 服务在您的设备间同步数据。

同步的数据可能包括您的阅读高亮、笔记、书籍信息、导入的书籍封面和显示偏好。

这些数据存储在您的个人 iCloud 账户中，受 Apple 隐私政策约束。

我们无法访问您的 iCloud 数据。

可选的微信读书导入

Booko 可能提供可选的微信读书导入功能。该功能仅在您主动输入微信读书 API Key 后使用。

API Key 会保存在设备本地 Keychain 中。Booko 不会将 API Key 上传到我们的服务器，也不会将其通过 iCloud 同步。

当您使用该功能时，Booko 会将 API Key 发送至微信读书相关接口，用于获取您自己的笔记书籍列表、划线、想法和书籍封面图片。这些请求仅在您主动执行连接或导入操作时发生。

导入后的书籍、笔记和封面图片会保存到您设备上的 Booko 数据中。如果您开启 iCloud 同步，导入内容可能会通过您的个人 iCloud 账户同步。

您可以随时在 Booko 设置中清除微信读书 API Key。

分析数据

我们可能使用 Apple 内置的 App Analytics 来了解整体使用趋势（如安装量、崩溃报告）。

这些数据由 Apple 收集并匿名化处理，我们不会收到任何可识别个人身份的信息。

我们不使用任何第三方分析或追踪 SDK。

剪贴板访问

Booko 提供可选的剪贴板读取功能，用于快速导入阅读笔记。该功能默认关闭，仅在您手动开启后生效。

开启后，剪贴板内容仅在本地处理，不会被存储、缓存或传输到任何服务器。

您可以随时在应用设置中关闭此功能。

我们不收集的数据

我们不会在自己的服务器上收集或存储以下数据：

• 位置数据。

您的权利

由于 Booko 将所有数据存储在您的设备本地：

• 访问与导出：您的高亮存储在设备上，可随时在应用内查看。
• 删除：您可以在应用内删除单条高亮，或通过卸载 Booko 删除所有数据。
• iCloud 同步控制：您可以随时在设备的 iCloud 设置中关闭同步。
• 微信读书 Key 控制：您可以随时在 Booko 设置中清除可选的微信读书 API Key。
• 无第三方共享：我们不会与任何第三方共享您的数据。由于我们不在服务器上存储您的数据，我们端没有可删除的内容。

应用内购买

Booko 通过 Apple App Store 提供一次性应用内购买（「Lifetime Unlock」）。
